Born in Angola, Carlos emigrated to South Africa until 1999 when he moved to Portugal. A quantity surveyor by profession, he also concluded various post-graduate qualifications in management and business administration. He initiated his career in the construction industry and later diversified into the project management and development specialising in leisure resorts. He held executive positions in various companies, within the Murray & Roberts Group and later the Nedcor Group. Carlos has acquired vast international experience in the investment, development and asset management of major hotel and leisure resort projects. Carlos joined United Investments (Portugal), part of the consortium of IFA Hotels & Resorts group, considered one of the leading international luxury hotel and resorts development company in 1999, and was appointed general manager in 2007. In addition, he is a director of Pine Cliffs and holds other management positions within the group.
