David Rogers is a veteran of the upscale travel and leisure industries. He describes himself as a ‘ serial entrepreneur’, having spent his career starting, building and selling private medium-size businesses; the last of these, prior to Rocksure, was a joint-venture with Abercrombie & Kent.

He and an ex-Abercrombie & Kent colleague, Desmond Patrick-Smith, started Rocksure in 2005 and were UK pioneers of the concept of shared ownership and enjoyment of multiple residential properties in different overseas locations. More than 130 high net worth individuals have now invested over US$20 million in the different funds. Villa locations include The Algarve, Croatia, Marrakech, Colorado, Brazil and Thailand, while there are luxury apartments in such places as Paris, Barcelona and New York. The Investors share ownership of 100% of the real estate assets and they share the use of the villas and apartments, too. There is a planned exit for all shareholders at the end of each fund’s 7 to 10 year life.
